Is my boyfriend suffering from alexithymia
16.12.2017 by Softie

Hi I need help, I'm finding it so difficult right now my boyfriend does not show emotion at all and I'm not aloud to even talk about mine as soon as I do he gets angry and on the defence and makes me feel like it's my fault I'm feeling the way I am. If we start talking about feelings or if i tell him that I am so lonely even if he's sat in the room with me hell just say "I don't know what you want me to say" the only time he shows emotion is on his terms. My mental health is going down the drain I'm constantly bottling how I feel until I blow and then become a crazy girlfriend.
Is it me?
Does he love me?
Or is it this ?
I'm running out of ideas of what it can be... I'm forever thinking hes gonna cheat on me because he isnt showing me anything. If we argue hell just sit there not caring at the fact I'm crying my eyes out.

How is one from the forum supposed to diagnose the mental health of your boyfriend based on your vague and ridiculous description? What you describe is nothing compared to a middle-aged woman having told you that she intends to adopt you and when you tell her that you don't have a mom and it's Christmas, she disappears like a heartless piece of rock.

Time to move on

When I was younger, I'd often act in the same manner in which you are describing your boyfriend is acting. He is acting in this manner to force you away from him. He doesn't know how to break things off with you so instead he is either subconsciously or consciously trying to push you away with the hopes that you end it for him. Without more information this is the best I can info I can give you. Do yourself a favor and move on. He will only get worst.
